January 3, 2014I wasn't crazy about Don Jon. I had some hopes for it since the cast was so good (Glenne Headly and Tony Danza as Joseph Gordon-Levitt's parents!), not to mention this was Joseph Gordon-Levitt's first attempt at writing and directing. He did a pretty good job for his first time, I think. My only problem with it was that by the end of the movie, I didn't really care about any of the characters. Julianne Moore was kind of interesting, but for the most part everyone seemed flat and nobody really changed. What I took from this movie was Jon (Gordon-Levitt) had what some might call an addiction to porn, and that was too much for certain people to handle, so in the end he just found someone else who accepts him and his porn. It sounds very egotistical like that, and there was definitely more to it, but that is pretty much what happens, and I just didn't really care.
