January 4, 2014In comparison to the other Paranormal Activity movies, The Marked Ones really wasn't that bad. It is technically a spin-off of the series which doesn't really make a whole lot of sense because they tied it directly to the other movies. So for anyone confused, we have Paranormal Activity 1 through 4, then The Marked Ones, then 5 will come out later this year. The Marked Ones primarily takes place in a run-down apartment complex, after a woman who is thought to be a witch gets murdered. A group of friends who just graduated suspect one of their classmates, and they do some investigating. Turns out to be a lot more than they bargained for (of course) when one of them ends up cursed. Then they end up tracing the path of the curse back to the house from the previous movies where all the witches live to try to save the cursed guy. If it wasn't a "found footage" film, I probably would have enjoyed it more, but that kind of ruins a movie for me.
