'Life After Beth' was a surprising breath of fresh air into the zombie subgenre. Dane DeHaan starred as Zach, a young man grieving over the loss of his girlfriend Beth (Aubrey Plaza) after she was bit by a snake on a nature hike. When Beth mysteriously rose from the grave and came back home, her parents (John C. Reilly and Molly Shannon) took it as a blessing and didn't question the details. Zach was also extremely happy about her return, albeit a little more curious about how she came back. As Beth slowly decomposed and grew more violent, Zach tried to find a way out of the situation, while hordes of undead bodies were also inexplicably rising from their graves. It was a very thoughtful and entertaining film and I really enjoyed it.
