It's getting close to Christmas, and that makes it the time of year when we have to watch as many Christmas movies as we can and suffer through as many Christmas songs as possible until we're so sick of it all and can't wait for New Year's. Fortunately not all Christmas movies are sweet little bundles of joy that warm our hearts. Teresa, let me give you a for instance: 'Bad Santa'. 'Bad Santa' is the festering, oozing wound that bleeds profanity and despair and warms our hearts. Billy Bob Thornton plays an alcoholic who dresses up like Santa Claus every winter for local malls despite being a miserable, obnoxious, and occasionally suicidal jerk. Tony Cox plays Thornton's business partner as Santa's elf. Together they plot heists and steal from the mall after hours. One night Thornton gets attacked by a man in the parking lot and a little boy stands up for him. Thornton drives the boy home and finds out his mom is dead and his dad is in jail and he lives in a big house with just his grandma. He decides to stay there with them for a while and ends up kind of liking the kid (mostly out of pity). He eventually (sort of) tries to do the right thing during a robbery and ends up getting sent to the hospital. This movie is hilarious, and is always a good one to watch this time of year.
