April 19, 2014Splinter was a cool new take on the classic monster movie. It featured an seemingly unstoppable parasitic creature that was drawn to heat and fed on living creatures. A couple criminals on the run hijacked a car and took another young couple hostage, then found themselves trapped in a gas station when the creature started coming after them. Most of the movie was spent trying to figure out an escape plan and ways to kill the beast, with the criminals and the hostages having to find ways to work together to stay alive. I had a good time watching this movie.
